New Controller

So guys, the day came when I had to buy a new controller for gaming on my pc! Mostly and wholly because the previous thing was ancient and the wires were wobbly. You know those times when you have to hold your cord at the exact angle for your device to work (mobile chargers are big culprits), well, that’s what I had to do when playing any game. Imagine keeping really still while fighting a boss hahaha Alas, I held on for the sheer reason that Xbox wireless pc controllers cost way too much. I have vacations to save for you know…  but by fortuitous chance I happened to notice a controller in a shop that resembled the xbox variety for a mere R120! Would it work as well? With a price like that I could not begin an argument in my head. Clever boy, yes, I bought it!
So what’s my verdict? Did I just throw my money away as quickly as people who smoke? O well boy, it feels light and fits my hands like fingerless gloves…. The buttons are almost exactly like the xbox controllers besides the ‘mode’ button, which must be turned on.
It came with a disk even though it stated plug and play on the box but besides that funny fact, it was thankfully pnp. It works on most OS! Who would have guessed that you don’t have to fork out to buy a decent controller?!
It did need configuration which is easy enough for us gamers to manage. Trust me guys, if you happen upon these in a store near to you, buy it, it’ll serve you well.
I made a video of myself unboxing the controller… It’s a Halloween Special :D

Mickey Mouse - Castle of Illusions Review

Mickey Mouse – Castle of Illusions

Wow! What an absolutely fun little game! A 3D version of that sweet platform game which we all played as kids... remember the brooms that flew around? Haha Well, there were no brooms in this version but hey! Somebody stole Mini (in order to steal her beauty) and you have to save her!
You begin in a Castle with many rooms, each room has three doors (first two are stages, last is a boss room). You need to kill the bosses and pry gems from their dead bodies, blood dripping from your tiny black hands … no, not quite as harsh, this is after all a Disney game :P  So no blood, no knives or guns, only some good old fashioned head pouncing! aaaa because children don’t have access to weapons ;)

You can kill your enemies in one of two ways – by pouncing on their heads or by collecting apples/candles/etc and tossing these items at the bad guys
Collect items to unlock special clothing! Jumping on macaroons and swimming in milkshake!
Playing in the jelly blocks :D finding hidden treasures!

Hmm there is no violence per say (no Call of Duty knifing), the colours are bright and happy. The stages are fun. The boss fights are on par with Mario, which back when I was a kid were tough ;) but I, as an adult thoroughly enjoyed the entire game.

The graphics were dazzling and impressive, the plot was well thought out, and it was a stimulating game that I would play again and again. Of course, I would recommended Mickey Mouse for all ages especially us adults with a lust for nostalgia.
